Like Kind Exchange
In the real estate arena, the term like-kind exchange (also referred to as a 1031 exchange) is used to describe an arrangement by which one real estate property is acquired while another is sold, without tax consequences resulting from the sale*.
* Please note: it is always prudent to consult your CPA about issues of tax liability and your legal advisor for any real estate venture.
